🏛️ History
Windsor was originally settled in the late 18th century and was incorporated as a town in 1809. It was initially known as “Malta” before being renamed to “Gerry” in honor of Elbridge Gerry, the Vice President of the United States at the time. The town was finally renamed to Windsor in 1822. Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, Windsor was primarily an agricultural community, with dairy farming being a significant industry.
