🏛️ History
Ellsworth was incorporated as a city in 1800 and named after Oliver Ellsworth, a prominent figure during the American Revolution and the third Chief Justice of the United States. The Great Fire of 1933 destroyed a significant part of downtown Ellsworth, but the city was able to rebuild and continue its growth.
