🏛️ History
Moca was founded on June 22, 1772, by José de Quiñones. The city was named after a type of tree that was abundant in the area, the Andira Ínermis or Moca. Moca played a crucial role in the development of Puerto Rico’s coffee industry in the 19th century, and it was also a center for political and cultural activity.
