🏛️ History
Sanbornton was originally part of a larger town known as Sanborntown, which was incorporated by Colonial Governor Benning Wentworth in 1748. The town was named in honor of Governor Wentworth’s friend, John Sanborn. In 1820, the western part of Sanborntown was separated and incorporated as the town of Sanbornton.
